Catholic Parish Ivanhoe

On behalf of the People of God at the Catholic Parish of Ivanhoe I welcome you to our parish website.

After a long and proud history what were previously three separate parishes became a single united parish in 2005, originally comprising three churches each with its local community and primary school, now comprising three churches each with its local community,  and since 2018 two with a primary school.

Both our parish primary schools are grounded firmly in the values of the Gospel and have a strong reputation for learning both in and beyond the classroom.

At the heart of our parish life is our worship together - and our living of the Good News of the Gospel; proclaiming the mercy of God, living justly, loving tenderly, serving one another, and walking humbly with God.  Values reflected in our parish vision of inclusiveness, hospitality, mission and service - A family of faith where everyone is welcome.

Whether you are a long time parishioner or new to the parish I would like to extend a genuine invitation to all to get involved in your parish family: Our parish is God’s small family in Ivanhoe, and  like any family we need each other.  We need your participation so that together we can fulfil the mission of Jesus. You have a God-given gift which you alone can bring to the parish family. We need that gift - we need each other. We also welcome visitors to Ivanhoe to come and share our life and worship.
On behalf of the wider parish family I thank all those who serve our parish and plan for its evolving future, and in so many ways help prepare and assist in our liturgical celebrations, care for those in need, provide social and outreach activities, prepare newsletters, the website and other communications, report on news and happenings, provide flowers, assist with administration and finance and much more. All these things help our parish to come alive in a spirit of sharing and working together.

Apart from the parish newsletter it is my wish that many will use this website to its maximum and keep in touch with inevitable developments across our parish, neighbouring parishes (our Deanery) and Archdiocese, and in the wider community.

Please feel free to contact me or our parish office at any time.

Thank you for visiting our website.
May you share in God’s blessings.
